Head of Gaelic broadcasting to reflect on effectiveness of Gaelic broadcasting

Saoil dè na co-dhùnaidhean a bhios aice?

Thèid òraid-cuimhneachail Aonghais "Ease" MhicLeòid a chumail Diardaoin le cathraiche MG Alba, Magaidh Cunningham. Beachdaichidh i air mar a tha an luchd-amharc aig BBC Alba a' sìor dhol am meud (it says here).
"This year the lecture will be given in Gaelic (with simultaneous translation into English)".
Gilleasbuig:
Saoil an atharraich i gu Beurla a-mhàin, ma phutas an luchd-èisteachd putan dearg?

Co-dhiù ...
"Maggie is passionate about Gaelic language and culture", or so it says in the Press Release published in the Pàipear Beag which Gilleasbuig has in front of him, "and we are delighted that she is giving this year's lecture.
"Does Gaelic broadcasting make a difference to strengthening the language in local communities? Is it public money well spent? These are some of the questions which we hope Maggie will address".

Nise tha Gilleasbuig fhèin beò an dòchas gun tèid na ceistean seo rèiteachadh, ach tha amharas beag aige nach ann san òraid seo a thachras sin!

"Is it public money well spent?" Chan e idir,
a rèir ìre na Gàidhlig am broinn seo!

Airson an t-seòrsa rud a bhios ri chluinntinn Diardaoin, feuch na thuirt an cathraiche na bu thràithe air a' bhliadhna:
"We are committed to driving forward Gaelic media strategies in partnership with the BBC and with the Gaelic language agency, Bòrd na Gàidhlig, and we will be working harder in the coming year to find new ways to engage, delight and surprise our audiences, and inspire more people in Scotland to get involved in Gaelic media" etc etc.

Air an làimh eile, feuch mar a tha feadhainn eile moladh BBC Banalba:
  • "Chan urrainn dhuinn a ràdh le fìrinn gun e sianal Gàidhlig do na Gàidheil a th' againn" - Lisa Storey, faic seo airson a' website aice.

  • "Mo bheannachd air Lisa Storey agus Ailean Dòmhnallach (Ailean Ghleann Uige) son seasamh a-mach gu poblach an aghaidh an sruth Bheurla a tha sìor thaomadh às an aon t-sianal bheag Ghàidhlig a th' againn air an telebhisean"- Aonghas Pàdraig Caimbeul, am Pàipear Beag 19mh Sultain.

  • "What Scotland needs are unchallenging, Gaelic-lite late-night traditional music shows which all look and sound the same" - G. A., an t-Eilean Sgitheanach
